VERSIONING
Versioning without the chaos
Upload new mixes, masters, and revisions. Sound Credit automatically organizes them, tracks changes, and makes the whole process seamless.
Every mix, in order
No more “mix5_final_final_really_this_is_the_one.wav.” Sound Credit tracks every version of a file automatically. Upload a revision and it’s grouped with the right track. Notes and timestamps help you remember what changed. Whether you’re on v2 or v45, it’s all organized and playable.
AI version detection that just works
Save a new file, and Sound Credit figures out what it is. Our versioning engine detects file relationships and stacks them without extra effort. No renaming, no sorting. Just drop it in and keep moving.
Feedback that hits the right moment
Version history isn’t just for files. Comments and markers stay linked to each revision, so you can check notes on v1 while listening to v3. Every voice is heard and every edit is documented.
Frequently asked questions
We're here to help with any questions you have about versioning.
How does Sound Credit know which version is which?
Our AI detects version relationships using filenames and other metadata. You can also manually organize if needed. (Don't worry, your audio and data are never used for AI training.)
Yes. You can play back any previous version at any time, switch between them, and review comments per version.
Do I need to label my files with “v2” or “final”?
It helps, but it’s not required. The platform recognizes many patterns and will auto-stack versions when possible.
What happens if I upload a file that isn’t a new version?
If it’s not recognized as a version, it’s treated as a new file. You can always move or group it afterward.
Can I leave notes on each version?
Yes. You can add detailed notes per upload and view them in the dropdown menu of each version stack.
Does versioning work on mobile too?
You can view versions and upload new ones on mobile, but the fastest workflow is through the desktop sync app.
